MusePin ("we", "our", "us") operates the MusePin mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
User Content
Photos you upload (outfits, profile pictures, portfolio images) are stored on our servers. Outfit posts, likes, saves, follows, and moodboard data are stored in our database.
Usage Data
We collect information about how you use the app, including interactions with content, bookings, and notifications.
Device Information
We collect push notification tokens to send you notifications. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app's functionality
- To manage your account and profile
- To send push notifications about likes, saves, follows, and bookings
- To facilitate stylist consultations and bookings
- To improve our app and user experience
- To communicate important updates about the service
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore, Authentication, and Cloud Storage). Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We implement security rules to ensure users can only access data they are authorised to view or modify.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Google Firebase — for authentication, database, storage, and cloud functions
- Expo — for push notification delivery
- Stylists — when you make a booking, your name and email are shared with the stylist
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data through your profile
- Update your profile information at any time
- Delete your account and associated data from within the app (Settings)
- Opt out of push notifications through your device settings
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have rights under the GDPR including data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, outfits, moodboard data, bookings, and authentication record. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period.
8. Children's Privacy
MusePin is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email.
